Do you assume that a cavity is just something that happens if you don’t brush and floss correctly? While it’s true that avoiding good dental hygiene can certainly lead to tooth decay, the development of decay is a bit more multi-faceted. This is why some people who seem to miss brushing quite often never develop cavities – and while some who take wonderful care of their teeth do develop them. Let’s see what you know with a quiz. It might even clear up a few questions along the way.

Quiz: True or False?

  1. True or False: Most of the patients we see in our practice have already experienced at least one cavity – or will experience a cavity eventually. Tooth decay is simply that common.
  2. True or False: The reason that some people (a very small percentage of the entire population, by the way) don’t experience cavities is because their smiles are immune to this type of decay.
  3. True or False: Even if you’re brushing and flossing and doing everything you think you should do, if you develop dry mouth, it can promote and lead to a cavity.
